I Privacy

This website does not collect any personal information. It has no forms, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it sets no cookies.

The page fonts (Bodoni Moda and Atkinson Hyperlegible Next) are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google's use of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

The Copy the address button uses your device's clipboard only when you press it. The shop bell plays a sound made in your browser; nothing is recorded or sent. The Maps links open Google Maps or Apple Maps, which have their own privacy policies.

If you call, email or write to us, we use what you send only to reply to you.

II Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website. It has been built to:

• work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline, a skip link, and a menu that opens and closes from the keyboard (Escape closes it);
• respect the reduced motion setting on your device: parallax, the crossing cat and other animations are switched off;
• keep text contrast at WCAG 2.2 AA level or better, with dark scrims behind any text on photographs;
• give every meaningful image a text description, and hide decorative drawings from screen readers;
• offer every figure in the chart of our income and spending as a plain table too;
• reflow on small screens down to 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling, and allow zoom.

III Complaints and concerns

If you are unhappy with anything we have done, please tell us first: in person at the shop, by phone on 07491 250664, or in writing to 42 Albert Street, Kirkwall, Orkney KW15 1HQ. We will look into it and reply.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, or you are worried about how the charity is run, you can raise a concern with the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) on its Raise a concern page.

If you are worried about an animal's welfare right now, contact the Scottish SPCA animal helpline on 03000 999 999 (9am to 5pm every day, as listed on the Scottish SPCA website). We are not an emergency service.
